Bullying is one of the biggest problems facing youth today, so become part of the solution today!

- One of every three American student have been the target of occasional or frequent bullying (1)

- Until recently bullying has been defined as "abusive treatment" or "coercion by means of force", but these descriptions are too crude to be useful in today society. (2)

- Researchers have now expanded the definition to be more inclusive: "Bullying involves the oppression of an individual through direct behaviors, including teasing, threatening, taunting, rumor spreading, and hitting by one or more students against a victim, it may also be an indirect attack causing social isolation though intentional exclusion." (3)

- Remember! While these definitions can be useful for identification, it is ultimately the feelings of the bullied that determine if bullying has occurred.
